Botox®
Botox® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA) is a prescription medicine that is a purified protein that temporarily improves the look of moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows.
Botox Cosmetic is administered by Dr. Boehm as a simple, non surgical treatment that is injected directly into the muscles between the brows. It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes persistent lines to form between the brows.
Latisse®
It never fails that somewhere along the lines of scientific discovery, someone stumbles on a new idea, a new technique, a new “magic potion” that does something completely different that what it was originally set out to do. This is the case with Latisse, a product which actually stimulates the growth of eyelashes naturally, making them longer, darker, and thicker.
Designed to treat glaucoma, a drug called Lumigan, was developed to decrease pressure within the eye either by slowing the production of a fluid in the eye or by increasing fluid drainage. Funny enough, one of the side effects of Lumigan is longer, thicker and darker eyelashes. Seeing this, Allergan, Inc.the producers of Lumigan, created a spin-off of the product called Latisse. It is the first and only product to be FDA approved to enhance eyelash prominence as measured by increases in length, thickness and darkness of eyelashes.
Within 16 weeks, clients can see a visible and measurable change in their lashes. Daily application is the key for the first 16 weeks, but after that time you can apply every couple of days to maintain their results. Who doesn't want longer, thicker, and darker eyelashes?
